PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To minimize and lighten second planetary gear sets in a planetary gear train wherein a first planetary gear set and the secondary planetary gear sets are mounted on a center of axis same as those of an input shaft and an output shaft to achieve a change gear ratio of forward 6-speed or more. SOLUTION: This multi-speed planetary gear train comprises the double pinion-type first planetary gear set 14 and the second planetary gear sets 16 of double planetary gears, a first carrier 28 is connected with the input shaft 10, a first sun gear 20 is fixed, a first ring gear 22 is selectively connected with a second ring gear 32 and a second sun gear 30, a third sun gear 40 can be fixed to a case 50, further a third ring gear 42 can be connected with the input shaft 10 and can be fixed to the case 50, and a second carrier 38 is connected with the output shaft 12.
