DIGITAL LITERARY WORK PROTECTION SYSTEM AND DIGITAL LITERARY WORK PROTECTION METHOD

There is provided a digital literary work protection system for legally transmitting a digital literary work from a transmission source device (20) to a transmission destination device (30). Identifiers unique to the devices are registered in advance in a predetermined server (40). Furthermore, information associated with the authentication procedure usable in the devices are correlated to the identifiers and registered in advance in the predetermined server (40). The transmission source device (20) judges whether the identifier of the transmission destination device (30) is registered in the predetermined server (40). When registered, it is judged that the transmission destination device (30) is valid and the authentication procedure is decided according to the identifier from the predetermined server (40). When the transmission source device (20) has the authentication procedure decided, the transmission destination device (30) is authenticated by using the authentication procedure decided. When the transmission source device (20) does not have the authentication procedure decided, an authentication procedure is acquired from outside for authenticating the transmission destination device (30).
