An access control method and/or system for automated identification and verification of subjects attempting to pass through a secure line (such as passengers crossing an immigration line at an airport or land-crossing), using personal identification (such as a combination of tokens and biometric access control) thereby allowing subjects to be identified by non proximity readers. The subject is processed and matched against a range of biometric enrolment identifiers provided a manifest list, such that subjects are identified prior to approaching a primary line. Subjects are tracked by the system prior to approaching an authorised officer provided with a computer system that can be used to identify the subject to the authorised officer for final visual confirmation. |
