PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To use a soft alloy and a resin as a material of a spacer 8 and a fixing member 6, to make a switching mechanism of an inversion restriction state and releasing simple, to reduce in size and weight of the whole constitution and to realize cost reduction. SOLUTION: The rotation support device is provided with an inversion prevention mechanism for closely inserting an engagement member to a successively narrowed inclination gap formed by a fixing side first member 6 and a rotation side second member 7 and restricting reverse rotation by contact friction resistance of both members through it. The engagement member is made to a spacer 8 sliding/rotating in a specified angle range and simultaneously contacting with both members at wide angle and wide area. It is constituted so as to be switched to any one of the inversion restriction state and the release state thereof by changing a relative position of the spacer 8 through an operation point provided on the second member 7 and an action point provided on the spacer 8.
