PURPOSE: A rotary vibration damper is provided to set axially little friction force in a second sliding bearing unit with a small diameter by disposing the second sliding bearing unit outside the axial direction. CONSTITUTION: A rotary vibration damper(1), especially a split flywheel, has at least two rotary masses(2,4) rotating relatively to each other against resistance of an energy storage unit(6) by a sliding bearing unit. The sliding bearing unit has a first sliding bearing unit(3a). The first sliding bearing unit is positioned outside a radial direction of a second sliding bearing unit(3b) with diameter smaller than the first sliding bearing unit. The first sliding bearing unit is coupled with the second sliding bearing unit through an adapter ring(34). The adapter ring has an annular disc-shaped outer ring body and an annular disc-shaped inner ring body connected with the annular disc-shaped outer ring body.
