<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flat square battery in which spring back produced in the exterior case in caulk-working the exterior case is prevented, the strength of a sealing part is increased, the reduction of an open circuit voltage is small even if the battery is placed in a high temperature and a high humidity, and in which the increase of the battery total height is small. <P>SOLUTION: In the flat square battery in which the metal exterior case and the metal interior case are fitted in a direction perpendicular to the flat face of the battery via an insulating gasket, furthermore which has such a structure that the exterior case arranged on the outer peripheral side of the insulating gasket is caulked by a caulk-work, in which the thickness of the battery is smaller than the outer dimension, which has at least two or more of peripheral straight line parts in the peripheral part, and in which respective end parts of the straight line parts are connected by the peripheral curved line part, the exterior case of a part corresponding to the peripheral straight line part is caulked in such a shape that a straight line part is installed between the tip of the exterior case and a caulked curved part. By this, because the spring back produced at the exterior case peripheral straight line part and deformation produced in the interior case in caulk-sealing are prevented and a sealing characteristic can be improved, the flat square battery of an enormous industrial value can be provided. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
