PURPOSE: A needle of a knitting machine is capable of being increased the expected life span and preventing a hook from being broken. CONSTITUTION: A needle(1) of a knitting machine contains a needle main body(2). The needle main body comprises: a butt(3); a hook(16); and at least one of serpentine curved parts(18) between the hook and the butt. The serpentine curved part contains a recess(24). The serpentine curved part comprises: a first part(21) extended in a longitudinal direction of the main body; a second part(22) extended in a lateral direction of the main body; and a third part(23) extended in the longitudinal direction of the main body again. The first part, the second part and the third part are at a right angle each.
