PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication device capable of reducing as much as possible the value of a specific absorption ratio (SAR) of electromagnetic waves when a user of a handset uses the communication device adjacently, to eliminate as much as possible the possibility that the user is affected by the radio frequency energy emitted from the handset. SOLUTION: The communication device operative in proximate relation to a user to transmit and receive radio frequency signals includes a radio frequency signal radiating element 94, a ground plate 91 spaced apart from the radiating element 94 by a specified distance and operative in conjunction with the radiating element 94, and a conductive component 108 which is disposed proximate the radiating element 94 and reduces the energy emitted in a direction toward the user. Further, in the communication device, with respect to the energy emitted from the radiating element 94, the SAR of electromagnetic wave to the user can be reduced by inducing a current to the conductive component 108 and forming a great current distribution in a direction away from the user.
