PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mechanism of controlling electric heating rods which can properly control the temperature of rods having hair wound thereon, further control the plurality of electric heating rods individually and detect defective conduction due to disconnection, etc., of a heater or an electric code. SOLUTION: A signal processing part 44 provided in a main body part 2 controls power supply to a heater H by receiving a temperature detection signal S which is supplied from a temperature detection signal response part 42 built in the electric heating rod 1 and which corresponds to the detected temperature of the rod. Thus, the temperature of the rods 1 having hair wound thereon is properly controlled, and the plurality of rods 1 are individually controlled. Furthermore, by utilizing a temperature detection signal S communicated between the heater 1 and the main body part 2, defective conduction due to disconnection, etc., of the heater H or the electric code 3 can be detected.
