PURPOSE: A device for promoting activation of catalyst is provided to neutralize exhaust gas through catalyst from oxidation and reduction, and to prevent air pollution from harmful exhaust gas by heating catalyst quickly in cold starting and activating catalyst early. CONSTITUTION: A catalyst activation promoting device is composed of a catalyst(20) inserted and installed to an insulation cover(10), a temperature sensor(30) installed in the catalyst to detect temperature of the catalyst, a control unit(40) controlling connection or disconnection of a switch(50) according to temperature of the catalyst detected from the temperature sensor, and an ultra high frequency generator(60) formed in the inner periphery of the insulation cover outside the catalyst to generate ultra high frequency corresponding to the electric signals from the control unit. The catalyst is heated promptly, and activated early in cold starting. Thus, exhaust gas is neutralized through the catalyst, and exhaust gas purification efficiency is improved in cold starting.
