PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a dispersion for forming a photocatalytic coating film, which comprises a dispersion of anatase-type titanium oxide fine particles, has excellent transparency and stability without being influenced by an ammonium ion content used in a production process, to provide a method for producing the same and a method for producing a structure using the same. SOLUTION: The method for producing the dispersion for forming a photocatalytic coating film comprises adding a monosaccharide or disaccharide in any stage of a process for forming the dispersion of anatase-type titanium oxide fine particles, in which a solution of a tetravalent titanium salt is reacted with an aqueous solution of ammonia to form titanium hydroxide, the hydroxide is peroxidized with an oxidizing agent to form amorphous titanium peroxide of superfine particles and the titanium peroxide is converted into anatase-type titanium oxide by heat treatment. The method for producing a structure having a photocatalytic coating film on the surface comprises coating the surface of a substrate with the dispersion to form a coating film.
