PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper sheet take-out device and a paper sheet take-out method, surely preventing double drawing regardless of the surface state of a paper sheet. SOLUTION: This paper sheet take-out device includes: a paper feeding table 22 for placing a bundle of paper sheets formed of two or more paper sheets; a pressing mechanism 27 for pressing the placed bundle of paper sheets toward the paper feeding table 22; at least one air jetting mechanism 26 for jetting air to the side of the bundle of paper sheets at the leading end side in the longitudinal direction of the bundle of paper sheets pressed by the pressing mechanism 27; and a take-out mechanism 30 for taking out the paper sheets P from the leading end in the longitudinal direction of the bundle of paper sheets to which the air is jetted by the air jetting mechanism 26.
