PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a static eliminator using alpha rays enabled to make atmospheric ions ionized by alpha-ray irradiation efficiently in contact with an object for static elimination, while surely avoiding a state in which with the alpha rays radiated from an alpha-ray source, the object for static elimination is directly irradiated. SOLUTION: In the static eliminator using the alpha rays provided with an alpha-ray shielding box (10) equipped with an opening for ion emission (11) and one or two or more alpha-ray sources housed in the alpha-ray shielding box and emitting atmospheric ions ionized by irradiation of the alpha rays emitted from each of the alpha ray sources (12) to have them in contact with the object for static elimination, the alpha-ray sources (12) in the alpha-ray shielding box (10) are positioned so that alpha-ray particles emitted from each source shall not reach the object for static elimination and the atmospheric ions shall be ionized at a position facing the opening for ion emission (11).
