PURPOSE: An oscillator is provided to reduce the poser consumption by generating a pulse train having a period inversely proportional to an increase of temperature. CONSTITUTION: A control signal generation circuit(210) is used for generating a first control signal and a second control signal. A pulse generation circuit(250) is used for generating a pulse train having a period inversely proportional to the temperature. A first switching circuit(230) is used for connecting a supply voltage to a power terminal of the pulse generation circuit in response to the first control signal. A second switching circuit(270) is used for connecting a ground voltage to a ground terminal of the pulse generation circuit in response to the second control signal. The currents applied to the first and the second switching circuits are proportional to the temperature of the pulse generation circuit.
