摘要 |
PURPOSE:To stably electrolyze pure water by brining an anode and a cathode into close contact with a cation exchange membrane formed by graft-polymerizing a fluorovinylsulfonic acid monomer with a membranous high molecular substrate composed of a monomer having a specified structure as monomer units. CONSTITUTION:A membranous high molecular substrate is made of polymer using a monomer represented by formulaIsuch as CH2=CH2 as monomer units. A fluorovinylsulfonic acid monomer represented by formula II or the like is graft-polymerized with the substrate by irradiating ionized radiation such as gamma-rays or accelerated electron beams to form a desired ion exchange membrane. An anode and a cathode formed by coating base materials of titanium or the like with an anodic catalyst and a cathodic catalyst, respectively are brought into close contact with the membrane and installed. Thus, pure water can be electrolyzed stably over a long term. |
