The present invention relates to a vertically adjustable worktable (1) adapted to accommodate various loads. The table (1) comprises a pair of mutually parallel link arms (5) at each side of a stand (4), the pairs being connected by a crossbar (6). Each pair of parallel link arms (5) is journalled at a first end to the stand (4) and at a second end to a respective side piece (7) arranged either side under a table top (3). The side pieces (7) are connected to a frame (8) arranged under the table top (3). These sidepieces (7) each enclose a gas spring means (9, 10). Respective gas spring means is journalled between the upper link arm (5a) and the upper edge of the side piece (7) or the framing (8) which is arranged under the table top (3). The gas spring means (10) arranged on one side is lockable and the gas spring means (9) arranged on the other side is adapted to accommodate various loads on the work table. In order to achieve a satisfactory operation within the whole positioning range of the table, respective gas spring means on respective sides are fixed to different attachment points, so that the gas spring means essentially form a cross in a side elevational view. The spring constants of the gas spring means also differ considerably. |
