PURPOSE: A gear box for a feed device is provided to reduce vibration and noise by reducing the number of parts, and to perform a quick feed motion by changing the rpm of a motor. CONSTITUTION: A gear box for a feed device is composed of a pulley shaft(161) and a middle shaft(141) mounted rotatably to a gear box body(168), a pulley case(173) attached to one side of the gear box body, a first timing pulley(131) mounted to one end of the pulley shaft, a second timing pulley(170) mounted to one side of the pulley case and connected to the first timing pulley by a timing belt(169), first and second spur gears(163,137), third and fourth spur gears(175,148), a gear clutch(142), and a lever set for adjusting the gear clutch. The first and second spur gears are mounted to one side of the pulley shaft and the middle shaft, respectively, and transmit power for a quick feed. The third and fourth spur gears are mounted to the other side of the pulley shaft and the middle shaft, respectively, and transmit power for a cutting feed. A clutch set is mounted to the middle shaft, and has a sleeve clutch(139) rotated with the second spur gear, and a clutch shaft(144) rotated with the fourth spur gear. The gear clutch receives power from the sleeve clutch and the clutch shaft in a quick feed and cutting feed motion, respectively.
