<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information mediation system and a method for mediating between a person who wants to exchange information and a partner to exchange the information. <P>SOLUTION: A mediator 10 is provided with registrant database 20 storing information related to a registrant 40 and a mediator server 30 providing a user interface, etc. The registrant 40 is provided with information such as knowledge and experience and is under a contract of confidentiality with the mediator 10. A mediation requester 50 intending the information exchange inputs information such as a theme, etc., of information to be exchanged along with his own information to the mediator server 30. The mediator server 30 notifies some registrants 40 who satisfies conditions to the mediation requester 50. The mediation requester 50 applies for exchange of the information with the registrant 40 via the mediator 10. When receiving the application, the contract on the confidentiality is made between the mediator 10 and the mediation requester 50.
