PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable smooth sliding of a rack shaft by appropriately selecting disposition state of a slit provided on a rack bush in the rack bush of a steering device for a vehicle. SOLUTION: The rack bush 4 made of synthetic resin having appropriate elasticity is a cylindrical shape, three raised ridges 41b having flat surface are formed on an inner peripheral part 41, and a rack shaft (not shown in Fig.) is substantially supported by the raised ridge 41b and slides in the inner peripheral part 41. Three slits 43, 44 extending toward the inner side of the bush 4 are provided on the rack bush at the axial direction of both ends respectively. The deformation to an abnormal tapered shape is prevented in mounting by fitting to a rack housing where the bush 4 is not shown in Fig., the occurrence of the abnormal friction of the bush 4 with the rack shaft is suppressed and the increase of slide load of the rack shaft is suppressed.
