PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to hardly lose information having been embedded to image data in advance even when performing image processing and to perform high quality image processing without the need for a superfluous processing time. SOLUTION: An image read section 11 of an image input apparatus 10 reads an image of an original or an object, converts the image into image data with 256 gradations in each of R,G and B colors, an information attaching section 12 attaches information with respect to the image data and creates the resultant image data. The information attaching section 12 acquires the information of an MTF characteristic of a scanner and attaches a tag being this information to a tag area of an image data file. Then the MTF characteristic of the scanner is finally embedded into the image data as an electronic watermark.
