GLASS CUTTING METHOD, GLASS BASE BOARD FOR FLAT PANEL DISPLAY AND FLAT PANEL DISPLAY

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a glass base board with a high dimensional accuracy by inhibiting cracking of glass when it is cut.

SOLUTION: The glass is cut by forming a scribe line on the surface of the glass, performing a chemical treatment and subsequently applying a mechanical or thermal stress. Alternatively, the glass is cut by forming a cutting pattern on the surface of the glass by masking instead of forming the scribe line, performing the chemical treatment and forming grooves corresponding to the cutting pattern.
