PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus by which a paper group is easily sorted out by imparting an index mark easily seen from the upper side and the side of an ejection tray to recording paper where an image is formed. SOLUTION: In the image forming apparatus by which the index mark is imparted to the specified position of paper so as to sort out per the paper group in ejecting the paper where the image is formed to an ejection part in a specified output mode in which output is divided per the paper group, the index mark is obtained by forming a notch having a length different per the paper group along one side by removing one corner part coming into contact with one side of the paper, and the length of the notch is gradually made long in accordance with an order by which the paper group is stacked at the ejection part.
