PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reel for fishing instantaneously changing over a clutch mechanism from an OFF state to an ON state. SOLUTION: This reel for fishing is characterized as follows. The reel is provided with a releasing part 70b installed in an engaging part 70 with a changeover member 48 and releasing an engaging state of a power transmission part 86a with the engaging part 70 in the initial stage in which a spool is changed over from a fishing line releasing state to a fishing line winding state and an urging means 76 for urging the changeover member 48 in which the engaging state with the power transmission part 86a is released to a changeover position corresponding to the fishing line winding state.
