PURPOSE: A fret for a string instrument and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to exclude a process for polishing an end part by forming specific inclinations on both ends of a fret body and to simplify the manufacturing process. CONSTITUTION: A fret(1) for a string instrument comprises a fret body(2) partitioning the surface of a finger board and an angular part(3) installed vertical to the lower portion of the fret body by being inserted to the groove of the fret. Many wedges(4) are formed at a specific interval in the angular part. Inclinations(5a,5b) are formed on both ends of the fret body. The fret is manufactured using a processing device consisting of three rollers. The inclinations are formed using an inclination polishing unit.
