PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a strobe system with which the convenience for users is improved and to provide an attachment for assisting strobe charging which is used in this strobe system. SOLUTION: In the strobe system constituted of a strobe device and an attachment attachable to and detachable from the strobe device, the strobe device 101 and the attachment 102 are individually provided with D/DC converters 14 and 24 for charging a main capacitor 15 arranged in the strobe device 15 and a strobe CPU 11 and an attachment CPU 21 for controlling charging of the main capacitor 15, respectively, and the attachment 102 actuates the DC/DC converter 24 in the attachment 102 till the charged voltage of the main capacitor 15 reaches a target charged voltage after receiving target charged voltage information at the time of strobe charging from the strobe CPU 11 in the strobe device 101.
