METHOD FOR MAINTAINING VIRTUAL RTC IN LOGICALLY PARTITIONED COMPUTER SYSTEM, COMPUTER-READABLE RECORDING MEDIUM AND LOGICALLY PARTITIONED COMPUTER SYSTEM

PURPOSE: A method for maintaining a virtual RTC(Real-Time Clock) in a logically partitioned computer system, a computer-readable recording medium, and the logically partitioned computer system are provided to maintain integrity of the virtual RTC in the logically partitioned computer system through a power cycle by tracking variance generated in a hardware RTC while a partition manager is not executed. CONSTITUTION: The logically partitioned computer system includes the RTC(150), a service processor(160), the logical partitions(1101-110N) having the matched virtual RTCs(1921-192N), and the partition manager(120). The service processor captures the variance in the hardware RTC as a variable clock delta(194) while the partition manger is not executed. The partition manager draws out the virtual RTC by adjusting at least one data element based on the variable of the delta clock.
