APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR DETECTING MOBILE BODY

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus and a method for detecting mobile bodies capable of easily and accurately detecting the mobile bodies even outdoors by a simple constitution.

SOLUTION: The mobile body detecting apparatus 10 includes at least one set of detection unit 11 comprising a transmitting part 20 and a receiving part 30 and an electric power supply 40 for driving each detection unit. The transmitting part comprises an oscillator 22c for generating high-frequency signals in the 24.2 GHz band on the basis of modulation signals from a low-frequency oscillator 22b and a transmitting antenna 23 for transmitting the high-frequency signals toward a prescribed detection region as pulse-like microwaves. The receiving part comprises a detecting part 32a for extracting the high-frequency signals in the 24.2 GHz band out of reception signals from an receiving antenna 33 for receiving the microwaves from a corresponding transmitting part and a determining part 32b for detecting the presence of a mobile body between the transmitting part and the receiving part on the basis of the amplitude of the high-frequency signals from the detecting part.
