PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a voice coil type linear motor capable of realizing a high thrust, being easy to be taken out, as well as a high acceleration performance. SOLUTION: A plurality of linear units 13 are provided side by side, each of which comprises an outer yoke unit 11 where a single-pole magnet 2 is fitted to a hollow part of an outer yoke 1 in ring, an inner yoke unit 12 that comprises a plurality of pairs of coils 4 that penetrate the outer yoke unit 11 and are wound around the inner yoke 3, and a spacer 5 that connects a plurality of pairs of outer yoke units 11 at a specified part in axial direction so that the magnet 2 of the outer yoke unit 11 faces a plurality of pairs of coils 4 of the inner yoke unit 12. The outer yoke 1 is magnetically connected, with the polarity of a magnet 2 different from the polarity of an adjoining one. The outer yoke unit 11 and the inner yoke unit 12 are so held as to secure a gap between the coil 4 and the magnet 2. The direction of current flowing each coil 4 and the electromagnetic action caused by the magnetic pole arrangement of the magnet 2 provide a thrust in the same direction.
