<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To dissolve defect by easily and quickly specifying the cause of the defect when defect occurs in a medical image. <P>SOLUTION: This medical image pickup system reads a patient's ID of a patient to be imaged when starting the imaging, a medical engineer's ID of a medical engineer performing the imaging, a cassette ID recording the medical image and a pickup device ID recording the medical image and links them with imaging order information. After finishing them, a control device 20 links respective discriminating information linked with the imaging order information with the medical image, the cassette ID, and a reader ID and stores them in an imaging history administration file 261.
