PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the breakage of a handle caused by an excessive driving force applied from a remote operating device to the handle when the handle of a circuit breaker is driven and operated to ON, OFF and RESET positions using the remote operating device. SOLUTION: The remote operating device is a device which drives a handle of a circuit breaker having an electromagnetic type linear actuator as a drive source to ON and OFF positions. A drive control part 20 for the linear actuator is provided with series resistors 21, 22 as current controlling means which suppresses an exciting current flowing into an operating coil 6b at the time of OFF operation of the circuit breaker, a transistor 23 as a short circuit switching element for the resistor 22, and an electric current controlling circuit which intermittently ON/OFF controls an FET 18 using a voltage at P point detected by a voltage detection element 24 as detection information to fixed current-controls the exciting current to a current value corresponding to each operation mode. At the time of OFF operation with a small handle operating load, the remote operating device suppresses the driving force applied to the handle from the linear actuator thereof to a low level to perform handle operations safely.
