PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small-sized generator capable of efficiently generating power by using a kinetic force given from one direction. SOLUTION: This generator comprises a rack bar 2 having a longitudinal direction in one direction, a pinion 4 rotated by relative movement related to the rack bar 2, and a generating means 5 for generating power by using the rotational force of the pinion 4. When a kinetic force having one-direction component is given, relative movement is performed between the rack bar 2 and the pinion 4 along one direction.
