PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for efficiently producing a fluorine-containing alkylethyl halide and a fluorine-containing alkane and to provide a method for efficiently producing a fluorine-containing ester. SOLUTION: The method for production is characterized as follows. A fluorine-containing alkene represented by general formula (I) R<SB>f</SB><SP>1</SP>-CH=CH<SB>2</SB>(I) (wherein, R<SB>f</SB><SP>1</SP>denotes a 1-20C perfluoroalkyl group or the like) is reacted with a fluorine-containing alkyl halide represented by general formula (II): Y-R<SB>f</SB><SP>2</SP>-X<SP>1</SP>(wherein, R<SB>f</SB><SP>2</SP>denotes a 1-20C perfluoroalkylene group or the like; Y denotes an H or an F; and X<SP>1</SP>denotes a Cl, a Br or an I) and a hydrogen donor in the presence or absence of a catalyst. The method is to simultaneously produce the fluorine-containing alkylethyl halide represented by general formula (III): R<SB>f</SB><SP>1</SP>-CH<SB>2</SB>CH<SB>2</SB>-X<SP>1</SP>[wherein, R<SB>f</SB><SP>1</SP>and X<SP>1</SP>are each as defined in general formula (I) and general formula (II)] and the fluorine-containing alkane represented by general formula (IV): Y-R<SB>f</SB><SP>2</SP>-H [wherein, R<SB>f</SB><SP>2</SP>and Y are each as defined in general formula (II)].
