PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the color reproducibility of a liquid crystal display device using a dyestuff-based polarizing film. SOLUTION: The polarizing film is provided which is formed by adsorbing and aligning dichroic dyestuffs in a polyvinyl alcohol resin film and has a 105 to 150°hue angle H and has≤7 color saturation C<SP>*</SP>when a parallel hue is represented on chromaticity coordinates (a<SP>*</SP>, b<SP>*</SP>). This polarizing film preferably has≤3 saturation C<SP>*</SP>when orthogonal hue is represented on chromaticity coordinates (a<SP>*</SP>, b<SP>*</SP>). Thus, the hue angle H and saturation C<SP>*</SP>of the parallel hue are put in specified ranges and, preferably, the saturation C<SP>*</SP>of the orthogonal hue is set within a specified range to suppress an image from becoming yellowish when the polarizing film is applied to a liquid crystal display device, specially, to a transmissive thin-film transistor liquid crystal display device.
