PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten the readout time of data in a sense amplifier. SOLUTION: Immediately prior to the readout of the data, PMOS 21a, 21b are made ON by a precharge signal/PR, and nodes N1a, N1b are charged to a power source voltage VDD. When the readout of the data is started, the PMOS 21a, 21b are made OFF, and also signals of a data line are applied to gates of NMOS 11a, 11b. By this procedure, a potential difference is immediately produced between the nodes N1a and N1b, and the amplifying operation by cross-coupled NMOS 12a, 12b is carried out, then voltages corresponding to the readout data are outputted to the nodes N1a and N1b.
