PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a capillary viscometer for easily changing load by a piston. SOLUTION: A sample SP thrown in a cylinder 11 is heated and is pressed by the piston 15 by a loading apparatus 30 and the fused sample SP is allowed to run off from a capillary hole 13a at the bottom section of the cylinder for measuring flow characteristics in the sample. Then, the loading apparatus 30 has a plurality of weights 34 that are formed in a cup shape whose size is different and are mutually laminated and at least one weight 34 is selected from the plurality of weights by a selecting apparatus 35 as the load of the piston 15. Therefore, work, where an operator manually grasps the weight for exchange, can be eliminated and hence workability is increased. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI
