PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lightweight and low cost parking system equipped with a device to absorb the elongation of ropes and detect their abnormal conditions for lift driving components to have proper strength suitable for loads, in consideration that present lift driving components of a parking system have a uniform strength, though cars carried by the lift differ in weights between their front and rear parts. SOLUTION: In a fork type parking system 1 where a lift 2 with lift forks 7 and a transverse tray 3 with tray forks 14 pass each other to deliver cars C, the lift 2 going up and down guided by guide rails 5 is hung with a pair of left and right ropes 6, a car C in the fixed direction is loaded on the lift 2, and the lift 2 is moved up and down by winding and unwinding the ropes with a lift driving section 9. Lift components 24 are changed in rigidity corresponding to the strength the front and rear sides of the lift 2.
