PURPOSE: A storing device using a flash memory is provided to largely enhance reliability by firmly protecting data based on an emergency interrupt request during a data transfer process and efficiently transfer data by judging error correction according to the data. CONSTITUTION: A controller(2) and a semiconductor memory(3) are interconnected through a semiconductor memory bus(MB). The controller comprises a controller control circuit(4) and an I/O(Input/Output) circuit(5). The controller control circuit controls the I/O circuit, and the I/O circuit controls data interchange between the semiconductor memory and an information processing device(PC). The information processing device and the controller are interconnected through an information processing device bus(PCB). The controller control circuit is connected to a signal line(S). An emergency interrupt signal is inputted to the controller control circuit from the outside through the signal line. If the controller receives the emergency interrupt signal, the data transfer process is interrupted during a read/write operation.
