PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cover body for a side ditch, which is manufactured simply and easily, to which an insert grating is buried and held surely, which is difficult to rot and is difficult to slip off and resists even a use for a prolonged term, also has even excellent rainwater drainage capacity and can prevent even the intrusion of large dust, stone or the like to the side ditch from the outside and in which the insert grating is buried. SOLUTION: In the cover body 1 in which the insert grating placed on the top face of the side ditch 2 is buried, the insert grating 3 is formed in three dimensions in an approximately rectangular shape and an approximately portal sectional shape and reinforcing plates 6 projected to the outside from both lower ends of the grating 3 are formed. A large number of rectangular rainwater through-holes are formed in series in the longitudinal direction of the insert grating to the top faces of the plates 6, boundary plates 8 for each rainwater through-hole are formed up to sites upper than the plates 6, the insert grating is molded integrally of a synthetic resin and the insert grating is buried to the top-face site of the concrete cover body.
