PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a key cylinder device miniaturizable while being strong against mischief or the like. SOLUTION: This key cylinder device has a cylinder lock 4 with a plug 3 rotatably inserted in a cylinder case 2 provided with a metallic surface shell 1, and an unlocking key 6 formed with an unlocking cord for moving a tumbler 5 mounted to the plug 3, into a prescribed position in the plug 3. A non-powered non-contact data carrier 8 at least partially positioned in an unlocking key insertion part 7 of the plug 3 when inserting the unlocking key 6 into the plug 3 is fixed to the unlocking key 6, and a signal exchange element 9 with the data carrier 8 is disposed in the cylinder case 2.
