The sedimentation characteristics in activated precipitation in waste water clarification are improved by addition of enzyme mixtures consisting of lipases, proteases and amylases and optionally further enzymes, this addition splitting high molecular impurities into fragments which metabolically favor floc-forming microorganisms at the expense of fiber forms, thus reducing the amount of fiber-form microorganisms and thus improving the sedimentation characteristics of the activated precipitation.
