PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a novel thermoplastic elastomer composition which is rich in flexibility, and excels in moldability, rubber-like properties, mechanical strength, compression set properties, vibration-damping properties, and transparency. SOLUTION: The method for producing the thermoplastic elastomer composition comprises compounding (A) an isobutylene-based block copolymer having a polymer block mainly composed of isobutylene and a polymer block mainly composed of an aromatic vinyl compound and (B) a modified isobutylene-based block copolymer having a polymer block mainly composed of isobutylene, a polymer block mainly composed of an aromatic vinyl compound, and an alkenyl group at the terminal.
