PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately cope with a structure change in the optimum design method. SOLUTION: This optimum design method is equipped with a first solution process for solving an optimization problem of a first evaluation function to a state variable vector by using a design variable vector as a parameter, and a second solution process for solving an optimization problem of a second evaluation function to the state variable vector determined by the first solution process and the design variable vector. The second solution process includes a design variable vector update process (S103-S112) for updating successively the design variable vector. The design variable vector update process is equipped with a minimum point search process for acquiring the minimum point by search from a starting point, and an endpoint evaluation process for determining the optimum point based on the second evaluation function value at the minimum point and the second evaluation function value at the endpoint.
