PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a butene block copolymer having a low modulus of elasticity and excellent low-temperature characteristics and to provide a method for producing the copolymer. SOLUTION: The butene block copolymer satisfies the following conditions (1) to (4). (1) 0.5-50 mol% of ethylene or propylene content, (2)≥95 mass% of an eluted component at≤50°C in temperature rising elution fractionation chromatography (TREF), (3) r1×r2≥0.5 when the reactivity ratio of butene is r1 and the reactivity ratio of the ethylene or propylene is r2 and (4) 0.1-5.0 dl/g intrinsic viscosity [η].
