USER EQUIPMENT OPERATING IN TIME DIVISION DUPLEX SYSTEM AND FREQUENCY DIVISION DUPLEX SYSTEM OF W-CDMA, PARTICULARLY CONCERNED WITH PROCESSING DATA IN A PHYSICAL LAYER

PURPOSE: A user equipment operating in a TDD(Time Division Duplex) system and an FDD(Frequency Division Duplex) system of W-CDMA is provided to enable a reception transport channel processor to generate received transport channels when operating either in a TDD system or in an FDD system, and process the received transport channel to generate network data. CONSTITUTION: An FDD reception chip rate processor(301) includes a cell search and rake finger locator, a rake finger and a data estimator. The cell search and rake finger locator performs a cell selection function and discriminates phase delays with respect to the rake finger by searching a position of a received communication path. The rake finger collects energy of plural paths of received signals. The data estimator generates soft symbols of received signals with respect to composite processing. A reception composite channel processor(303) executes a composite processing related to the soft symbols. Network data is restored from the received signals by using the FDD reception chip rate processor(301), the reception composite channel processor(303) and a transport channel processor(305). The network data is processed by a transmission transport channel processor(307), a transmission composite channel processor(309) and an FDD transmission chip rate processor(311) to generate in-phase and quadrature signals. The transmission transport channel processor(307), the transmission composite channel processor(309) and the FDD transmission chip rate processor(311) are indicated by a control processor and an MEM/SMA(Shared Memory Arbiter) controller to perform a suitable processing. The in-phase and quadrature signals are converted into RF signals by an RF modulator(308) and then radiated by an antenna or an antenna array through a wireless interface.
