NEW DISULFIDE OXIDOREDUCTASE AND METHOD FOR ACTIVATING PROTEIN BY USING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new disulfide oxidoreductase and a method for activating a protein by using the enzyme.

SOLUTION: The cloning of a new gene catA derived from Brevibacillus choshinensis has been achieved and the base sequence was also determined. The gene contains a gene encoding the new protein CatA having disulfide oxidoreduction activity. A transformant transduced with the gene was prepared and the expression was confirmed. A protein free from physiological activity is activated by treating with CatA and a recombinant protein having physiological activity is produced by using a transformant containing both of a DNA encoding a recombinant protein and a DNA encoding CatA.
