PURPOSE: A method for supplying an abbreviated dialing service of a portable terminal is provided to supply abbreviated dialing information on other telephone number of a called party, and to perform an abbreviated dialing process with the other telephone number, thereby easily retrieving the other telephone number of the called party. CONSTITUTION: When a recent call list is requested through a key input unit(S110), a controller extracts recent call list information and displays the extracted list information on a display(S120). If a user selects one of called parties from the recent call lists(S130), the controller stores a main address of the called party(S140), and displays other telephone number menu for the called party(S150). If the user selects a desired telephone number from the menu(S160), the controller stores a sub address(S170). The controller retrieves a phone book based on the main address and the sub address(S180). The controller extracts retrieved results(S190), and displays the results on the display(S200). The controller requests a call with a retrieved telephone number(S210).
