PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for inoculating liquid spawn increasing inoculation working efficiency while performing stable inoculation work with liquid spawn, and to provide a device for inoculating the liquid spawn. SOLUTION: This device for inoculating the liquid spawn comprises a spawn storage container 1 storing the liquid spawn B, a spawn supply line 3 connected to a carry-out port set on the spawn storage container 1 and supplying the liquid spawn B from the inside of the spawn storage container 1 to the outside, and a liquid spawn jet mechanism 20 connected to the spawn supply line 1 and set on a liquid spawn inoculation machine 2 jetting and inoculating the liquid spawn B supplied with the spawn supply line 3 to a culture medium C in a cultivation container 15. Furthermore, the device has a residual quantity detecting sensor 7 for detecting the quantity of the liquid spawn B in the spawn storage container 1, and a control part 50 stopping supply operation of the liquid spawn B with the liquid spawn jet mechanism 20 based on the detection signal of the residual quantity detecting sensor 7.
