PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a commutator which is be used for motor-driven tools or the like, can suppress the occurrence of noise caused by the floating of a commutator piece during high-speed rotation, can improve service lifetimes of a carbon brush and a motor, and can prevent commutator pieces from scattering. SOLUTION: The commutator has a following constitution. A groove 5 is formed at a leg bottom 6 of each leg 15 existing at two or more places in the axial direction of the commutator piece 2 buried into a mold. The groove 5 is formed into a shape having a groove bottom 10 located outside in the radial direction from the leg bottom 6 and an internal rising part 7 connecting the groove bottom 10 and the leg bottom 6.
