PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an underground buried member, not requiring large turning force in penetration and preventing lowering of function at the beginning of burying. SOLUTION: A steel pipe pile 10 includes a pile body 12 and an enlarged diameter part 14. The enlarged diameter part 14 has a fixed ring 16, an idle fitting ring 18 and a strip-like plate 20. The ring 16 is fitted and fixed to the outer periphery of the pile body 12. The ring 18 is freely moved up and down along the central axis of the pile body 12 and freely moved in the circumferential direction. Both ends of the plate 20 are fixed to the fixed ring 16 and the idle fitting ring 18. The longitudinal central axis O1 of the plate 20 obliquely intersects the central axis O of the pile body 12 at a designated angleθ. In intruding the steel pipe pile 10 in the ground, tensile force is applied to the plate 20 to be fitted along the outer peripheral surface of the pile body 12. After the steel pipe pile 10 is intruded to a designated depth, compressive force is applied to the plate 20 to project the plate 20 outward. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI
