PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a VDSL communication system capable of easily setting VDSL transmission rate from a VDSL modem. SOLUTION: In the VDSL communication system having a VDSL unit 203 connected to a PBX 103 and the internet 201, and the VDSL modem 204 connected to the VDSL unit 203; the VDSL modem 204 transmits the set transmission rate to the VDSL unit 203.
